How do I find Lower Micklin Farm?
We are located on the B5032 which runs from the village of Denstone to the village of Alton. We are situated about 1.5 miles from Denstone and 0.5 miles from Alton. This road may be shown as either Alton Road, Denstone or Denstone Lane, Alton.
The post code is ST14 5DJ. On most SatNavs this will take you to our neighbours property which is called Micklin Farm. We are about 100m east (closer to Denstone). Our drive has clear signage at the bottom with the name LOWER MICKLIN FARM and LOWER MICKLIN TOURING PARK.
The easiest way to get to Lower Micklin, from ALL directions, is to get on to the A50 and then follow the signs to Alton Towers. This will take you past our drive and avoid any narrow, single track lanes. After going over the hump back bridge in Denstone you will find Lower Micklin about 1 mile on the left hand side.
Please do not drive up if it does not say Lower Micklin Farm at the bottom of the drive.

What are the Check-in and Check-out times?
Your cottage will be available from 4.30pm on the day of arrival. Please call in at the house to pick up your Key.
Please vacate your cottage by 10.30 am on the day of departure and hand your key into the house before leaving.
What is the latest time we can arrive?
We are happy to accommodate late arrivals, but please phone and let us know if you will be arriving after 9.00pm.
What facilities are in the cottages?
All cottages are equipped with cooking utensils and necessary equipment along with a TV with DVD player. All bedding, sheets and toweling is provided and beds made up for your arrival. A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar and milk awaits you for a welcoming refreshment. Toilet paper, washing up liquid, tea towel, salt and pepper is also provided.
Do you accept pets?
We do not accept pets in any of our cottages.

Do you allow single sex groups?
We do allow single sex groups but we expect all our guests to behave in a responsible manner and to respect other guests staying at the same time.
We encourage any large groups to consider booking all three cottages to avoid any conflict with other guests. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Is there a BBQ we can use?
Yes. We can provide large drum style barbeques and tools for you to use during your stay. We can also supply the charcoal for a small charge so there is no need to bring your own fuel.
Do you have WiFi?
Yes. We provide free WiFi for you to enjoy during your stay. Please note that we are in a rural area and the broadband speed may not be as fast as you are used to. It is perfectly satisfactory for email, surfing etc. but it is not possible to stream video.
How far is Alton Towers?
The entrance to Alton Towers is just two miles by road.
How do I get to Alton Towers?
Driving is the simplest method. Alton Towers is just two miles and the journey will take approx. 10 minutes depending on traffic. You will have to pay £6 to park your car in Alton Towers and take the monorail from the car park to the main gate.
There is a bus service from the bus stop at the bottom of the drive which will take you directly to Alton Towers entrance at 10.24am each morning and return at 5.30pm. This will avoid the long walk or queue for the monorial to take you from the car park to the theme park entrance.
Taxi is a very good alternative option. Mum’s Motors (07851 572 200), Oakamoor Taxis (01538 702720) and Nanas (01538 346291) charge £10-£12 for up to four people. Booking is essential.
Walking to Alton Towers by public footpath is possible but you will need to consult a map. Walking by road is not recommended.

How do you take payment?
We accept all major Debit and Credit Cards (not American Express).
The deposit of 50% is payable by card at time of booking. The balance is payable on arrival by card. (Sorry we do not accept cheques).
Do you offer refunds?
Postponement and cancellation due to Covid-19
This clause explains when you, or we, may cancel or agree to postpone your holiday due to Government restrictions. We prefer that you postpone but will always allow you to cancel where the law gives you the right to do so.
The rights in this clause are additional to any other rights either of us may have in our terms and conditions.
We promise to keep all our customers safe. We ask you not to book if the law prevents you visiting or staying with us, or if Government guidance means that you should not visit or stay with us even if the law still allows you to. Our promise also means that there are limited circumstances in which we may need to cancel your holiday.
Either of us has the right to cancel your holiday, or any full unused days, if the law prevents you from visiting or staying with us. If your holiday has not started, then we will refund your booking in full less any costs we have already incurred on your holiday which we cannot recover elsewhere (“Direct Costs”). If your holiday has started, then we will refund in full any full days unused when we cancel, again less any Direct Costs. We will not charge an administration fee.
Either of us also has the right to cancel your holiday, or any full unused days, if Government guidance means that you should not visit or stay with us, even if the law still allows you to do so. If your holiday has not started, then we will refund your booking in full. If your holiday has started, then we will refund in full any full days unused when we cancel. We will not charge an administration fee and we will not deduct any Direct Costs.
Changes to our facilities and services
We may make reasonable changes to the facilities and services at the park provided these changes do not materially reduce their quality. Our changes may reflect changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements or implement minor technical adjustments and improvements, for example to address a health and safety risk.
If we make changes to the facilities and services at the park which materially reduce their quality, we will give you the choice between confirming your booking, agreeing new booking dates with us or cancelling. If your holiday has not started and you decide to cancel, then we will refund your booking in full. If your holiday has started, then we will refund in full any full days unused when we cancel. We will not charge an administration fee, and we will not deduct any Direct Costs.
Standard cancellation .
We do not offer refunds under normal circumstances. However, we will always allow you to change your dates.
If you decide to cancel your holiday we will endeavour to re-sell your dates and, if successful, we will refund your deposit minus an administration charge to cover marketing costs and additional expenses.
